4924 Shoot 1

Updated: May 1, 2020

Once I had worked out my method of shooting and planned the areas and colleagues I wanted to shoot I began shooting the project. I started off with a few shots round the store and focused on a few portraits of a member of staff called Kelly. Each day she has been drawing a different moustache/beard on her face as a way to raise moral for staff and also lighten the mood for customers as some find the new way of shopping to be quite stressful.

Without Kelly many customers shopping experiences would be completely different. She is always putting a smile on peoples face through her loud bubbly personality and as well as her drawn on beards. Also for staff it can be worrying coming into work putting yourself at risk which Kelly helps with as shes always lightening the mood.

I focused on a few high risk areas like the in store bakery in which hygiene is already highly important. The image shows some PPE which the bakers wear on a regular basis in order to meet hygiene standards.

The way in which customers shop has changed dramatically. A 2 metre social distancing measure has been put into place to reduce the risk of spreading. Customers now have to stand 2 metres away from the till and cannot stand in the taped out zone.

Over the 3 years of University we have had the pleasure of looking at a vast amount o photographers and a variety of different work. One of my favourite bodies of work I have came across is 'Niagara'

Home Based Photographers

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak it has challenged the way in which we work, it has limited and restricted what we are capable of shooting. Having to find new methods of working due to these restrictions
